Recently i started unsubscribing from many newsletter and instead following the websites twitter accounts . Simply because with this fast amount of information on the internet it’s not possible to subscribe in 100 newsletters .
So i asked my self will twitter replace newsletters ? Yes indeed !! Why ?
1- You can get live updates in twitter compared to newsletters .
2- You can read the headlines directly from twitter page compared to the newsletter were you might have to open the email to view all the headlines .
3- Sharing via twitter ‘” re-tweeting ” is an amazing tool that has helped twitter expand and made people discover things instantly .
Assuming you are using both newsletter and twitter in your website… you will notice that your newsletter subscribers are declining but your twitter followers are increasing.
Your newsletter is associated with ads and you don’t want the subscribers to decline ?
1- BE aware of Frequency of updates :
If you are using feed burner for your newsletter , be aware of the frequency of updates . No matter how good and attractive your content , people get annoyed when they are receiving emails in a daily basis . Plus this will lower the value of your newsletter . Feedburner unfortunately still doesn’t have the feature of delaying the newsletter say until you reach a certain amount of posts . So until feedburner solves this issue you may post in bulk

2- Followers = frequent visitors >> frequent visitors = more ads revenue . As simple as the equation; your revenue would increase if you can increase your followers .
- every one has an email , but not a twitter account , right ?
Not every one is still aware of twitter capabilities , some people still like the old fashion way of receiving updates via emails . This reminds me when RSS was introduced first , many websites explained what is RSS in their pages and still will . So begin explaining twitter ..
